Unforgettable vacation

The best vacation I ever had was almost 5 years ago. All began on the last day of 2016, that day I arrived at my auntie's house in Lautaro from Santiago, where all the family got together, my mom, my grandma, my cousins; to celebrate the new year. A few days later, my mom had to return to Valparaíso, because her house burned down.

After a week, my godmother (Guigui), her daughter (Renata) and Renata’s dad picked me up and we drove to Puerto Montt, we ate kuchen on the way. There, we took a ferry with Guigui’s parents (her dad was the captain).  For 3 days, we sailed through stunning fiords and we had the opportunity to see a whale‘s flukes. Once in Puerto Natales, the ferry’s destination, we wanted to do some sightseeing, but we didn’t had to much time, so we took a taxi to the Milodón’s cave and went for a spin around the national park of Torres del Paine, where we saw a puma!

We came back to Puerto Montt, the same way we left it. Then, with Guigui, Renata and her dad, went to Chiloé, Puerto Varas, Frutillar and Puerto Octay; we stayed some nights at Chiloé and Frutillar and during the day we visited as many places as we could. Something that amazed us through the trip was the size of the cows, they are all so big!

I really enjoyed those 3 weeks spending time with my family and I took so much pleasure in seeing the landscapes, architecture and eating food from the south of Chile, so it was great. I would like to do something like that again.

  1. Hello Lilith! First of all, the best part of your post it's the part that you said: "kuchen". I really love kuchen's. This vacations sounds great, I hope you can repeat some vacation like this, but without the burn in yours mothers house... thats terrible. Regards!
